Summertime tip from ye ole uncle sanman294
Ah, summer is here! That means fun and sun! Hiking, fishing, swimming, camping and just doing yard work. If you are like me this also means you will get a itchy skin infection from poison ivy or poison oak. The blisters seam to spread as fast as you itch the infected area(s). You can either wait it out or go to the doctor and get some medicine to get rid of it. Or....Try this tip. Go to your local automotive parts store (i.e. Auto Zone, Advance Auto Parts or O'Reilly Auto Part) and buy a bottle or can of "Fast Orange". It is a degreaser, used to clean greasy hands. And the reason poison ivy and poison oak cause such a nasty skin infection is because you are allergic to the oil that these plants produce. To clean an oil off of anything you need a degreaser. Thus this is why "Fast Orange" works so well. Soon after you think you have come in contact with either of these plants use "Fast Orange" to clean your skin. Particularly any exposed skin. Depending on the sensitivity of the area that might have been exposed to the plants, scrub the area as heavy or lightly as you would like. Because "Fast Orange" has pumic in it, it will feel gritty and uncomfortable to sensitive skin if you scrub to hard. If you already have a skin infection from one of these plants it is not to late to try "Fast Orange". Apply it to the infected area and also scrub this area clean. Then rinse. Immediately the itching will stop! If it does not stop the itching repeat. After the itching has stopped you will continue to have the bumps or blisters for a week or two. But they will only bother you because they are there, not because they are itching. "Fast Orange" can be bought as cheap as 99 cents, far cheaper than a trip to the doctor! So try this tip or pay an arm and a leg at the doctors, it is up to you! |
