Tip for getting FireFox and ZoneAlarm to work with each other.

To get ZoneAlarm to recognize FireFox Version whatever, open ZoneAlarm and follow these instructions. After it is open select the program control tab on the left side. Now select the main tab at the top. Set program control to medium. This will put ZoneAlarm into learning mode. Meaning when you try to connect to the internet with FireFox for the first time it will ask you if it is O.K. to let this program access the internet. It will do this with all programs that have not already been given the right to access the internet. This is a safety net so that programs that are viruses acting like legitimate programs don't gain access to update themselves or give away your information. Also make sure you do not have the Automatic Lock enabled. This will block all access to the internet from any program or only allow the pass-locked programs access to the internet. It is suppose to lock only when there is X minutes of inactivity or when the screensaver is set to come on. If you have already installed FireFox and it is running great and then you install ZoneAlarm turn on the Alert Advisor. Don't be afraid of it, it is your friend. It will recognize FireFox asking you only once if FireFox has the right to access the internet if you select it to remember the setting. If you are still having a problem with the both of them working together change the program control setting in ZoneAlarm to a lower setting until you have no problems. I hope this helps.
